The TOT Rulebook
What are our values and principles?
We’re rooted in culture and community. We’re rooted in research and lived experiences. These are the non-negotiables that I stick by.

Representation:
The Trade of Therapy is a brain-child brought to life to represent different practices, cultures, opinions and positions in power, all within the relevance of psychotherapy and inner work. When it comes to representation, I don’t want to leave any stone unturned. That’s a big bill to foot.

Knowledge:
The internet media ecosystem is stuffed with volume but lacking in substance. Beginner therapists with limited resources have very few opportunities to learn the process-oriented facets of their work. With more Urban Indians becoming curious about psychotherapy and inner-work, there’s a need for unwaveringly credible and informed content. I’m building a library of reflective, insightful and affirmative dialogues about lived experiences and psychotherapy.

Comfort:
The shame of our identities and the regrets of our mistakes hold us back from being vulnerable. The Trade of Therapy represents people, not perfection. It is a womb of safety for people and practitioners who feel like outsiders in their personal and professional lives. It is a digital dive bar where we laugh and cry at our complex existences.

Authenticity:
It’s probably the first word I’d use in an elevator pitch. I want to platform stories and takes that are raw, vulnerable and true, written to find connection and to localise therapy wisdoms.

Rigour:
Speaking about human beings is a precarious and delicate task. The Trade of Therapy will abide by ethical representation and storytelling that is bound by the standard practices of psychotherapy and journalism.

Transparency:
I won’t have the energy to pretend to be infallible. TOT has and will always be open to feedback, corrections and guidance. Grant me the privilege and kindness of being informed by your input. I don’t take the word “community” lightly.
